I obtained my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in applied chemistry and analytical chemistry (electro-synthesis) at Bu-Ali Sina University, Hamedan, Iran. In 2010, I moved to University of Padua, Italy, as a research assistance to explore self-assembled monolayer (SAM) of especially designed peptides, and synthesis and electrochemistry of gold nanoclusters. My research adventure as a Ph.D student at the University of Western Ontario (UWO) started at 2010 with a focus on synthesis, electrochemistry and electrogenerated chemiluminescence of gold nanoclusters under supervision of Prof. Mark S. Workentin and Prof. Zhifeng Ding. I won Paul DeMayo Award in 2015, that is given to the best Ph.D. student each year in the Department of Chemistry. In 2016 I joined Prof. Peng Chen’s group as a postdoctoral associate where I explored photoelectrocatalysis of semiconductor nanocrystals using single-particle photocurrent measurements and single-molecule fluorescence microscopy. At Queens College, CUNY, I hold a PD research associate position in Prof. Mikael V. Mirkin’s group and explore new mechanism of charge carrier transfer in semiconductive nanostructures using Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy (SECM) in both tunneling and mapping modes.
I am currently an Assistant Professor in Analytical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry at SUNY Oswego. The Hesari’s group research is focused on spectroelectrochemcial introgation of nanomaterials for energy conversion and grean fuel production at bulk and single particle level.
